•Our final seaweed pull for this school year will be on Thursday, May 5th. Third grade will join us for this one.
•These photos are from our Friday, January 28th pull at Paiko. We had to move down to the next beach access because the park area where we have been is now cleared of invasive seaweed. This time I got photos of the wheelbarrow and truck crews.

•Here are some photos from our second pull on Friday, December 17th at Paiko.

•Our seaweed pull on Thursday, October 21st at Paiko was a huge success; the group (including others in the community) pulled 9250 pounds! The students exceeded everyone's expectations, and I heard nothing but compliments about how well they worked together in teams and how much they accomplished while still having fun.

•Great news! Youth Service Hawaii and the Starbucks Foundation have granted us $750 to continue pulling invasive seaweed in Maunalua Bay for our service learning project.
"Our Youth Philanthropy Board was very impressed with your proposal and your presentation to the board. We would like to fund your project. We are inspired by the vision of your students to take action for the good of the community."
The grant money will be used to transport students to the Paiko site. The fourth and fifth-graders will join us in making a difference in our community.
Check back to this site for updates on our progress and to see photos of our work.
