Welcome to Holy Nativity School! Whether you are new to our website or returning for another look, we’re happy to have you visit.

Holy Nativity is an Episcopal day school that serves a broadly diverse range of children from age 3 through 6th grade – the only Episcopal school in Hawaii that focuses exclusively on those elementary grade years. It is an excellent school with a strong program that supports both the spiritual and the academic formation of its students.

For most children, school is their first gateway to the larger world. In Holy Nativity’s intimate setting, the youngest students enjoy the attention of small classes as they learn to make friends and be friends. As children move through our school and face the complexities of more divergent thinking and a widening world, Holy Nativity’s stability strengthens them. Encircled by family, close friends and caring teachers, children begin to broaden their world view.

Holy Nativity’s family setting with one class per grade encourages close relationships between teachers and students throughout the school and offers many opportunities for children to learn, grow and excel. The individual attention provided in this environment helps them feel secure and ready to rise to any challenge. In a school this size, each student’s contribution is critical to both the student and to the success of the class. With their peers counting on them, students learn to be dependable and responsible. In return, students receive a full share of attention and a healthy boost to their confidence.

But the benefits go beyond the things children learn in the classroom, on the playground and in their other activities. As children mature within this small, nurturing setting where they know their peers well and are appreciated by their teachers, they grow in knowledge about themselves as they learn to respect each other’s differences.

Holy Nativity School is a private day school established in 1949 by the Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity, located in ‘Aina Haina Valley on O‘ahu's east end.

The co-educational school, which serves children from three years old through grade six, is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Holy Nativity School also is a member of the Hawai‘i Association of Independent Schools, the Hawai‘i Council of Private Schools, the National Association of Episcopal Schools, and the Council for Spiritual and Ethical Education.
