Mission Statement
Tend my lambs - John 21:16
Philosophy
We are an inclusive, respectful community that, as an institution, expresses its spiritual life through Episcopal language and litugy. We support our families' faith lives by encouraging students to explore their own traditions and by providing them with a model of the Episcopal form of worship as a foundation for, or to contrast with, their own trdition.
Foundational Beliefs:
Spiritual growth is natural and fundamental; it cannot be forced but can be encouraged. Creativity and Joyfullness can be cultivated through invitation and example.
Benchmarks:
By graduation, each student will have:
- heard basic sacred stories several times
- had numerous occasions for contemplative silence
- participatd in liturgy
- read for a worship service
- experienced means/ opportunity to serve
And can demonstrate by:
- recognize; respond in art/ writing
- sit peacefully for increasingly longer periods
- take various roles; articulate the difference between performance and worship service
- read aloud at age appropriate level
- ability to talk about school events centered around serving (penny drive, food drive, etc.)
