Kindergarten Lead Teacher
A “transplant” from New York in 1968, Anna Ruth Peterson Kaneshiro, known as Petey, began her teaching career at Kilohana Preschool in Niu Valley after graduating with a BA from the University of Hawai’i-Manoa. One year later, in 1989, she became a faculty member at Holy Nativity School where her sons, Daren and Dean, had attended from preschool through sixth grade.
Kindergarten Educational Specialist
Kryn joins us this school year as an ES, but is not new to HNS. Kryn and her brothers and sisters were students at Holy Nativity School. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from San Jose State University, where she was a member of the softball team and currently is finishing her Master’s in Education from 2018 from Chaminade University. Since graduating from SJSU, she worked at Kapunahala Elementary for two years and held positions including: educational assistant, summer school teacher, and a long-term substitute for a kindergarten and first grade self-contained SPED class. Kryn is certified in Orton-Gillingham and the Sonday Systems approach.
