Application Process for HNS

We’re so glad you’re considering Holy Nativity School, where children thrive through deep relationships, personalized learning, and a commitment to doing their personal best. Here’s what you can expect during the admissions journey:

Step 1: Explore HNS
  • Schedule a Campus Tour – In-person or virtual tours available by appointment throughout the year. Email admissions@holynativityschool.org to request a personalized campus tour.
Step 2: Submit Application
  • Applications Open: September 1
  • Priority Deadline: December 1
    • Applications submitted by this date will be reviewed in our priority round
  • Rolling Admissions: After December 1, reviewed on a space-available basis
Age Requirement:
Children must meet our July 31 birthday guideline (e.g., must be 3 by July 31 to enroll in Keiki 3s that fall).

Step 3: Classroom Observation & Supplemental Documents
  • After your application is submitted, we’ll invite your child and family to campus for a classroom activity session with our teachers.
  • To get to know each applicant as fully as possible, families will submit any available documents for our Admission Committee review (i.e. Teacher reference reports, report cards, progress reports, letters of recommendation, etc.)
Step 4: Admissions Decisions
  • Priority round decisions sent by April 15
  • Rolling admissions decisions will follow on an ongoing basis, as space allows.

Apply Online

Parents are welcome to apply online.  There is an application fee of $120 per applicant for all grades.

When you apply, you will need to have available for upload:
  1. A copy of the applicant’s birth certificate.
  2. Copy of previous year’s final progress report (if applicable)
  3. Copy of first semester progress report of the current school year (if applicable)
Teacher Reference Reports (TRR’s) will be sent to teachers by applicant families via the admissions portal. Preschool and Kinder applicants must provide at least one TRR, while applicants to 1st-6th grade must submit at least 2 TRR’s.

Optional Items

  1. Mentor reports (written by coaches, extra-curricular activity teachers, etc) and other letters of recommendation 
  2. Supplemental materials such as other assessments, testing, etc. can be submitted to provide more information about each applicant. (The SSAT is not required for admission to HNS.)
