Since 1950, Holy Nativity School has celebrated May Day, as a way for students to learn about Hawaiian culture, music, hula, and history.

Ho‘ike 2025: Save the Date!

Friday, May 2, 2025
8:30am - 9:30am | Holy Nativity School Courtyard

We’re excited to welcome you to Holy Nativity School’s annual Hōʻike—a joyful celebration of Hawaiian culture, music, hula, and history. This beloved tradition brings our entire school community together in spirit and song, and we can’t wait to share this special day with you.

He Waiwai Nui

This year, our theme invites students to reflect on the question: What is your value? What is your worth? Through this exploration, our keiki celebrate what grounds and grows us—who we are, where we come from, and where we’re going.

We honor the values that guide us
:
ʻOhana (family), Aloha (love and respect), Kuleana (responsibility), Laulima (working together), Lōkahi (balance), Mālama (care), Ho‘okipa (hospitality), and Ha‘aha‘a (humility).

Join us as we celebrate Ho‘ike: He Waiwai Nui!

Reminder: Early dismissal will follow Hōʻike.

  • Here's the Scoop

Here's the scoop for Hō‘ike! Mark your calendars for Friday May 2nd, at 8:30am.

This event is open to everyone in our Holy Nativity community - so bring family, friends and loved ones to our incredible campus.   Seating is limited, and is first come, first served.  All guests should enter through the church gates and find seating in the courtyard under the tent.

Parking will be on Osco Field, and attendants will be on site to assist with parking.

School is dismissed immediately after Hō‘ike.  No after care is available that day.

Join us for our Lū‘au immediately following Hō‘ike.  Enjoy ‘ono lunch from Keneke's, and fellowship on our PreK lanai and playground. We'll have Lū‘au Combo plates (Kalua Pig, Shoyu Chicken, Chicken Long Rice, Poi, Lomi Salmon, Rice, Haupia) and Keiki Kalua Pig bowls (kalua pig and rice).

Bring your own blankets, chairs, etc. to picnic. Families must supervise their children on the playground.

  • Donations & Volunteer Opportunities

It takes a village to magically transform our campus for Hō‘ike! Join us in preparing for one of the best days of the year at Holy Nativity School.  We need donations of tropical greenery and flowers, plus help in creating kahili and decorating our campus.

It's a wonderful opportunity for fellowship on campus as we work together to prepare for Hō‘ike!
